We are requesting endorsements by organizations to join with the sponsoring organizations (CAMS and ARE) to support this cutjrotc campaign.

Our two main points are: 

1.  The expense of JROTC which costs LAUSD 2.6 MILLION DOLLARS of District funds. 

     JROTC claims that it is cost effective because part of the expenses are paid for by the

     Pentagon.  However, because of their Dept of Defense requirements and regulations it actually

     costs more PER student than other electives.  For LAUSD it costs $557 per student for the past

     two years.

 2. JROTC continues to violate the California Education Code Section 51750 and District Policy

     Bulliten 2067.1 by involuntarily placing students into JROTC.
